Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea)is indigenous to the Arctic and Alpine regions of Europe, Asia and America and has long been used as a tonic by many cultures, including the Ancient Greeks. Rhodiola is generally known as an “adaptogen”, a term which refers to any agent possessing the ability to increase the body’s capacity to adapt to stressful conditions. This standardized extract of min. 3% Total Rosavins and min. 1% Salidrosides is the highest potency of Rhodiola available.

Antioxidant and Organ Protection
Rhodiola root may protect hypoxia-induced pancreatic injury in two ways. (Hypoxia means low oxygen supply.) Rhodiola prevents hypoxia-induced biological changes by increasing intracellular oxygen diffusion and efficiency of oxygen utilization. Alternatively, it reduces hypoxia-induced oxidative damage by its antioxidant activities.

Rhodiola, Stress and Fatigue
One way that Rhodiola performs these remarkable functions is by improving the neurological mechanisms of dealing with stress. This includes stimulating the release of the mood-modulating neurotransmitters norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin. Rhodiola has also been shown to support modest increases in beta-endorphins that supports improved mood. Supplementation with Rhodiola may be expected to promote positive support for mild mood changes, and provide relief from everyday stress. Furthermore, the synergistic balance of all eight essential Rhodiola biomers will provide maximum benefits.
