Antioxidants

Antioxidants

Antioxidants can prevent or slow the oxidative damage that occurs in our body. When our body cells use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals which can cause damage. Antioxidants can act as "free radical scavengers" and prevent and repair damage done by these free radicals. Serious health problems such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, macular degeneration, etc are all contributed by oxidative damage.
